The TAHM is located in the 104 year old building formerly of the Masonic Lodge #30. We house the history, artifacts and other memorabilia of the area. Since the fall of 2017, the Museum has been forming a new board of operations. The museum operates on volunteer hours, and through public funding. The new board members are currently bringing the building and exhibits up to date. This is where we need your help! We are asking for the publics help in assisting us in locating any artifacts, pictures, or historical materials in relation to our area. A coverage map is located on our website as well as our facebook page, but we cover the northwest corner of Butler County from the Towanda Township, north and west to the respective county lines. This is very close to the original Towanda Township covered before it was divided into the 8 townships in 1872-74. If there are any materials in the private collections of the community, the TAHM would consider these items a valuable addition to our museum archives. Whether it be veteran affairs, local Indian Tribes, school items, local business or event pieces, or historical information from your ancestors, we would love to include these items in our exhibits. Artifacts could be donated or on loan for a specified amount of time. For those who would be interested in a more monetary donation, our expense list is continually growing as we dig into the restoration of this historic property The need for funding increases as we work towards our final goal of brining our building up to working order. Our renovation plans include but are not limited to, window replacement, a new electrical system, as well as heating and air. Just to name a few! we also have scheduled plans for cosmetic work, life refinishing the floors and wall structures, and building new exhibits. More detailed information upon request. Here is a peek at some of our hard work:
