James William Robison was born in Banff, Scotland, UK to James and Isabella Robertson. Due to a misspelling on a land deed in 1835, the name Roberston was changed to Robison. Mr. Robison retained the new spelling and the family followed suite. Below is a genealogy chart with his children.

The farm has been the scene of many charming hospitalities and where the visitor always received a warm welcome. The dedication of the great central barn occurred on June 5, 1909. Two thousand invited guests were transported by special trains from nearby towns and cities and made merry at the largest barn dance ever held in Kansas.
