Ken SpurgeonKansas Oil Hill Museum History Consultant
Ken is an Assistant Professor of History at Friends University and was born and raised in Wichita. He has spent over 20 years teaching at the High School and College level. Ken was the co-founder of Lone Chimney Films, Inc., a not-for-profit documentary film company dedicated to films about the Midwest. He has written or co-written and directed four full length documentaries. His documentary Home on the Range is available at the Kansas Oil Hill Museum and has earned the Western Heritage Award (Wrangler) at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. He is currently the owner of Fall River Productions. As the primary Historical Consultant, he is in charge of programming, school visits, and historical presentations. Ken also works closely with the other team members of the Kansas Oil Museum and Butler County Historical Society to update and add new interpretation elements to the museum itself. |
