What are succulents? By definition, succulent plants are drought-resistant plants in which the leaves, stem, or roots have become more than usually fleshy by the development of water-storing tissue. Able to retain water in arid climates or soil conditions. Succulent plants may store water in various structures, such as leaves and stems. The water content of some succulent organs can get up to 90–95%! Succulents are often grown as ornamental plants because of their striking and unusual appearance, as well as their ability to thrive with relatively minimal care. Whatever the definition, we think they look COOL!

Renata's Garden is a local business working to unearth the power of horticulture in the lives of others. She is a touring plant bus who is partnering with the Museum for this special event. We are so lucky to have her not only share her knowledge with us, but she will be providing the plants as well! She will also have her bus parked at the museum that day, so if you want to purchase extra items from her, they will be available.
